A Way to Still Enjoy the NFL This Upcoming Season

The NFL lockout is deeply underway and it remains to be seen if we will have a football season this upcoming fall. Many different points are being argued over by owners and players without any agreements so far. Neither side seems to want to make any concessions even though billions of dollars are on the line for both of them. This means that fans across the country may be left with Sundays that are very empty this fall. Fantasy football, Monday night football, and live games in stadiums are all activities that may fall victim.

This season can still be filled with football fun though thanks to video games and their wonders. John Madden’s franchise has come out with their newest game to date, Madden NFL 12. There are new features to enjoy and updated graphics as well since every new Madden game delivers them. Rookies are added into the game and trades that have been made on the rosters as well. If drastic player movement occurs due to the end of a lockout, internet connections on each system can be used to download update rosters for all the teams. Throughout the season the madden franchise will periodically update the rosters.

 

What really stands out from the new features are two important changes. Many different aspects of football that fans love are combined into the Madden NFL Ultimate Team feature. To deliver a unique experience on this new addition video game play, fantasy football, and trading cards are all combined. New this year is another feature called Dynamic Player Performance. Dependent upon your player’s performance each game, you will see a difference in them. Their confidence levels and their skills will adjust according to the successes and failures they have.

 

A lockout doesn’t mean that there will be no football this year for everyone to enjoy. The new Madden NFL 12 will allow many to continue to enjoy football this season. Play games on your PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 this upcoming season instead of just watching the games on Sundays.

You would hate to open an expensive wine and find all you have now is expensive vinegar.

When it comes to saltwater fish, one of the most exotic and beautiful of all is the lionfish – and actually, the proper name for the lionfish is the scorpionfish. But if you are wondering why the “lionfish” is actually called the scorpionfish, you need look no further than the reason this is a poor fish for beginners. In addition to making them look so attractive in an aquarium, the long spines of the lionfish are also able to give a highly venomous sting! And you may very well end up getting stung yourself if you simply put one of these in a tank without knowing everything about them that you should.

If you think that you have been running your saltwater tank long enough that you will be able to handle having a lionfish without getting stung, here are a few further things you ought to know about them.

 

 

You should not keep a lionfish with crustaceans or with small fish, as they are meat eaters – and they usually prefer their food to be live! If you buy a lionfish that is still young, you will usually be able to train them to eat frozen foods such as clams, shrimp, and brine.

Your lionfish will also need a lot of room, and you should not add one to your tank unless you have a tank that is at least 75 gallons – preferably larger. Also, the lionfish does most of its hunting and swimming at night, so you are unlikely to see a whole lot of them!

 

 

If you keep the lionfish in a sizable tank with big enough fish, it will be a good tank mate, and will be extremely hardy. But make sure (for your own safety!) that you know as much about them as you possibly can before you choose to add one to your tank.

Activities That Are Fun For Kids

With the ridiculously full closet filled to the brim with toys it is hard to consider that they could possibly be board, but ironically it still seems to happen. Most kids love to do projects or experiements, but it can be hard to come up with an idea on the spot.

that come in very handy. These books provide a bunch of great suggestions for thinsg you and your child can do together, to keep them busy for hours. These suggest things such as crafts and science experiments.

 

Help your child create their own volcano. Get a clean and dry 20 oz pop bottle and put in a quarter of a cup of baking soda into it. Take the bottle outside into their sand box and help your child mound up sand around the bottle to create a volcano. You child will find this safe and simple chemical reaction, incredibly interesting. Now add a cup of white vinegar and add in a few drops of red food coloring. Now just add the vinegar into the mouth of the volcano and sit back and watch the explosion! Your child will so love this experiement they will want to do it again and again.

 

You can also work with your child to create a pinata. Grab old newspaper from around the house and cut them into one inch strips Then blow up a ballon and and take a bottle of white school glue. Put your glue into the bowl and then dip your strips of paper into the glue and place them around the ballon covering it with multiple layers. The thicker the newspaper layers are the harder the pinata is to break. Give your pinata at least 24 hours to dry. Next carefully cut a round hole into the top of the pinata and pop the balloon. Poke two small holes through the sides of the pinata and run a thin strand of rope or yarn through it. Next fill your pinata with goodies! Then patch your holes with more newspaper and glue and allow 24 hours for it to dry. Then let you children paint the pinata with some acrylic paint. Then simply invite some friends over and let the fun begin.

 

There are so may great things you can do with your children, that take advantage of things around your house. Crafts are a great way to keep your kids busy for hours and provide them a positive feeling of accomplishment.

Saving Money With “The Rule Of Two Days”

Every one of us has probably dealt with this situation at least a few times: we see an item in the store that we really do not need (at least, we never realized we “needed” it until we saw it in the store!), and all of a sudden we can think of nothing but that item; we “have to” have it, and so – of course – we pick it up and buy it! There are times when this turns out to be a good purchase, but there are plenty of other times when we get home with this item and immediately regret having spent the money on it – or, where we are happy with the item for a while, and then it disappears altogether.

If you are making an effort to be smarter with your money, one thing that is worth considering is using the “rule of two days” – which calls for you to wait on purchasing an item until at least two days after that “craving” for the item started; and once you start following the rule of two days, you will find that you often end up not buying the item at all!

 

 

Once you have incorporated this rule as a regular part of your life, it will also be beneficial for you to keep a notebook in which you write all the things that you are wanting to buy; once you do this, you will have written down all the items that you have already decided you feel comfortable buying, which will make things easier when a craving hits you in a store. If you spot an item in a store and feel that you “absolutely have to have it,” you can pick it up and buy it right then if it is already on your list as something you have been looking for. But if the item is not something you have been wanting for a while, mark it down in your notebook, and see if it is still on your list in two days; if it is, you will know for certain that you are not just wasting your money by picking up that item!
